Physique 57 is a pioneer of barre fitness. Our Co-Founder, Tanya Becker, was one of the original Lotte Berk instructors and brings decades of experience and knowledge. We have distilled down a one-of-a-kind formula of instructional excellence that has achieved global acclaim at our worldwide locations for over 15 years. Our rigorous training program is known for delivering world-class trainers, a safe and effective method, and a loyal client following.

The Physique 57 Barre Certification is a self-paced program, estimated to take up to 80 hours. You will have 6 months from signup to complete all course requirements. We supply a Recommended Timeline if you’d like to follow a week-by-week checklist and complete your certification in 10 weeks.

From the date you register you will have access to the online learning platform for 6 months, the time allotted to complete all course requirements and submit your final class video.

You may extend your access to the online learning portal for an additional fee of $99 for 2 years, renewable every 2 years. This will allow you to reference all course modules at your convenience and always have a detailed breakdown of the Physique 57 method, positions, and teaching techniques at your fingertips.

The standard certification fee is $1299. For your convenience we offer two payment options:

Spread payments across 4 monthly installments of $325. First payment due at signup.

We utilize Stripe for payment processing through a secure and encrypted connection (HTTPS/SSL).

a) If upon a doctor’s order, you cannot physically receive the services because of significant physical disability for a period in excess of two months.

b) If you die, your estate shall be relieved of any further obligation for payment under the contract not then due and owing.

c) If the services of Physique 57 cease to be offered.

d) All monies paid pursuant to Physique 57 Barre Academy cancelled for the reasons in this paragraph shall be refunded within thirty (30) days of such notice of cancellation; provided however that Physique 57 may retain the expenses incurred and the portion of the total price representing the services used or completed, and further provided that Physique 57 shall demand the reasonable costs of goods and services which you consumed or wish to retain after cancellation of the contract. In no instance shall Physique 57 demand more than the full contract price from you.

For best results for those looking to teach, we recommend having a background in fitness, dance, and/or movement.

There is no audition video requirement to enroll in the course. There are quizzes throughout the online training modules to ensure comprehension. The certification culminates in a final Physique 57 Sculpt-level test out class submission for which you will receive personalized feedback from your Barre Certification Advisor.

Our entry level course provides a comprehensive overview of the Physique 57 method. You will also learn basic group fitness teaching fundamentals, anatomical cueing, and injury and pre/postnatal modifications.

Our online training platform has over 100 videos accompanied by written instruction, learning paths, and interactive forums. There are quizzes to ensure comprehension as you complete each module, and you will be evaluated at the end of the course on your delivery of a Sculpt-level class.

Yes! Class-taking is an important component of our Barre Certification program. The most prevalent learning style is kinesthetic, which means many of us learn best by doing.

Once registered, you will have access to 6 Physique 57 NYC Studio recorded classes that you can take, observe, and review as often as you like. We recommend that you take at least 2 of these classes prior to commencing the online courses to provide context of our method and optimize your learning experience. During the program, you will be required to submit top takeaways from your class-taking experiences to your Barre Certification Advisor.

Class-taking and observation hours are included in the total 80-hr. estimate to complete your certification.  There are 2 additional Sculpt-level classes included in the curriculum that you will be required to learn to receive your final certification.

You will have access to an exclusive 15% discount on Virtual Live classes should you wish to take more classes! This discount is available only to registered students while actively pursuing the certification program.

Physique 57 is recognized by the National Academy of Sports Medicine and the Athletics and Fitness Association of America as an Approved Continuing Education Provider. You may use this certification towards your NASM and AFAA continuing education requirements and will receive 1.9 NASM CEUs and 15 AFAA CEUs.

You may say that you have been certified in basic barre fundamentals by Physique 57, however you may not use our brand name, logos, or trademarks to promote your workouts.

You may include on your resume and bio that you have been trained by Physique 57 in Basic Barre Fundamentals. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be equipped with two full 57-minute class formats that you can share with your fitness community.

Upon registration you will receive a Barre Certification welcome gift. You will need a pair of heavy weights (5 lbs.+), a playground ball (8-9 in.), and an exercise mat. If you don’t have a wall mounted barre, we strongly suggest a Booty Kicker Barre, which you can purchase at a discounted rate along with balls & bands here.

We launched our Barre Certification Program in 2021 and could not be more energized by the awesome outcomes and experiences we have had with students. We will continue to develop Continuing Education curriculum in the future. These courses will be designed to enrich your class delivery (including Creative Choreography & Sequencing and Advanced Alignment courses), sharpen your business skills to improve client retention and engagement, and increase your confidence as a teacher.
